no BIG loss [23 May 2009|12:25am]
[ mood | bitchy ]

Dear Journal....
I see I've recently lost a few people who I thought were my friends.....ah well, not really a big loss. Friendships in the "scene" are really flimsy anyway.....outside the clubs they don't really matter & now that I'm out of Atlanta....

"You're so vain....I bet you think this post is about you...don't you?"
You're probably right....it's all about you....which means you don't have anything better to do than troll my journal.....really, get a fucking life.

Dear Journal,
You've got to be fucking kidding me....
My quote for today:
"Two tears in a bucket. Motherfuckit!" ~ The Lady Chablis

And that's all I have to say about anything right now.

A new obsession..... [16 May 2009|10:29am]
[ mood | excited ]

Dear Journal,
It's no secret that I have a thing for DOLLS.....I have a LOT of DOLLS....some I am going to keep forever, others I intend to sell.....soon.
Recently I've stumbled across Blythe
This doll was created in 1972 by Allison Katzman & marketed by Kenner. It was only out for one year, a total flop......30 years later....she's a hot commodity. It's un-fucking-real. I found an original from 1972, with chewed up feet & all original parts, on eBay......for $660.
The doll is now being recreated by this company in Japan, Takara of Japan. (wouldn't you know the Japanese would get a clue....they know something cool when they see it) More history on the doll HERE
The reproductions are NEO Blythe (11 inches), which is similar to the doll from 1972 or Petite Blythe (4 1/2 inches), still cute, but not as poseable.
I've been looking on eBay & I am WOW'd at the things I find. People buy plain dolls & customize them.....and they sell anywhere from $200 to $600. I missed out on a custom last night....she went for $81. I am pissed about that.....but oh well. Maybe there will be others. In the mean time, I have purchased 3 Blythe dolls in the past 2 days. (as if I have the money for this.....) I bought 2 petites & one Ashton Drake.
The Petite Blythe Carousel Lucy

The Petite Blythe Carousel Neromin

AND
Ashton Drake Pinafore Purple Blythe

I am VERY excited to receive my little girls....I got a new camera & I plan on taking MANY fabulous pictures of these lovely ladies....not in their original clothes, but other outfits of my design. The Ashton Drake doll has options to change out the hair & eyes too....she will be the MOST fun!
Gina Garan was give a Blythe doll & she made a book about her....This is Blythe. Then, if you look on flickr, there are MANY Blythe groups. I'm inspired! This girl has some GREAT shots!
More on my doll obsession later.......

Dear Journal,

I'm sorry that I haven't been paying much attention to you, but I've been tweeting a lot...at twitter. It's micro-blogging. It's only good for a few words.....not like you, where I can go into lots of detail. You have nothing to worry about. I can't quit you.
And I'm not hexgirl13 there, I'm monkeypaws!

[ mood | happy ]

Dear journal,

I was in Walgreen's around the first of March & I found myself in the cosmetic section.
At the register there was a display of nail color & there were lots of colors to choose from. I needed a green. It was $1.99. Why not?
I put it on over the weekend & it didn't chip until a week later. AWESOME!
I have since went back & purchased 2 other colors...
The brand is SinfulColors
What's even better about them than the great price....they don't test on animals!

the difference between homeless & BUM [30 Mar 2009|07:38am]
[ mood | aggravated ]

Dear Journal,

While walking to the Hyatt on saturday night, we were stopped by a man, "Let me ax you a question..."
I knew exactly what he wanted to ax, but before he could, I offered him the other half of my chicken & waffle sandwich (totally untouched)
"Is that leftovers?" I smiled & nodded. He shook his head, "Naw...", backed away & walked away.
Ungrateful bastard. That is the reason I don't hand out SHIT to these sorry, begging motherfuckers. They're all a bunch of BUMS.
If he were truly homeless, he would have taken my food. The homeless dig in the trash for their meals, they have a certain look & "perfume" about them. This guy didn't have any of that. You can tell a lot from a mans shoes.

A good read [26 Mar 2009|10:17pm]
[ mood | artistic ]

I finished this book tonight;

In Replay, Jeff Winston, a 43-year-old, dies of a heart attack and upon awakening finds himself back at college in 1963, in his 18-year-old body and having all the memories of the life he just exited. This is the beginning of a series of replays in which Jeff Winston lives his life over and over again. The span of the book is breath taking with untold twists and turns
I was a little reluctant to read it....but then it sucked me in....I couldn't put it down. I'd like to read other books by this guy. He's good.

Dies the Fire [25 Mar 2009|09:05pm]
[ mood | busy ]

I just finished reading this book;

Michael Havel was flying his Piper Chieftan over Idaho en route to the holiday home of his passengers, a family of five, when the Change occurred. At that moment, the plane's engines inexplicably died, forcing Michael to glide into a less than perfect landing in the wilderness. And as he leads his charges to safety, he begins to realize that the engine failure was not an isolated incident....

Juniper Mackenzie was singing and playing guitar in a pub when the Change thrust the small Oregon town into darkness. Cars refused to start. Phones were silent. And when an airliner crashed, no sirens sounded and no fire trucks arrived. Now, taking refuge in her family's cabin with her daughter and a growing circle of friends, Juniper is determined to create a farming community to sustain the survivors of this crisis....

The Change happened when an electrical storm centered over the island of Nantucket produced a blinding white flash, causing all electronic devices - computers, telephones, engines, radios, televisions - and even firearms to cease to function, and plunged the world into a darkness humanity was unprepared to face.

But even as people band together to help one another, others are building armies for conquest....

There were 3 books before this one (that I haven't read yet) that lead up to the "Change" & then this one starts the second series....on to the next one!

Dear Journal,

I have so much going through my head right now....so much I want to get off my chest, but I can't find the right words to express it all. Maybe I need a glass (or 2 or 3) of wine & some music to set the mood....I'll be back in a bit.

not what I intended [17 Feb 2009|04:35pm]
Dear Journal,

I made a post meant for the new readers of my journal & the friends I already have may have been confused...so I deleted it.
I've had this journal for a very long time & chose to make it "friends only"
No one has missed anything. It's been "friends only" for YEARS.
That post was to let new readers know, if they wished to know more, then I would have to add them as a friend.

I Capture the Castle [25 Nov 2008|06:33am]
[ mood | awake ]

Dear Journal,

On monday I finished reading I Capture the Castle

This is a WONDERFUL story! I bought the movie some years ago, for some silly reason I wont get into here, but I know the books are always better, so I decided to check it out. I was right. It was much more detailed.
This story is about a family that lives in a broken down castle in the English countryside. It's written through the eyes of the younger girl, Cassandra. It's her journal. Life is pretty boring until they meet the Cottons...the new owners of the castle. It's fresh, fun, imaginative. Some of the stuff Cassandra says just made me giggle. This is one of my favorite books....

Dear Cap'n@livejournal.com,

Thank you so much for the text you sent me today.
I must say, I think you thought you were being clever,
but you fell way short of your mark. I had to laugh at this.
The threats you made & said you would reveal "over lunch"
would just be a waste of breath. He already knows. He knows
everything about me. Nice try asshat.
Don't you have anything better to do with yourself. I'm sorry you're
so miserable. Perhaps you should run yourself a hot bath...dim the
lights.....and oh, don't forget to take the razor blade with you.
*kiss*

Blast from the past...... [30 Mar 2008|08:02pm]
[ mood | excited ]
[ music | Linus Radford ~ Sometimes a kiss ]

Dear Journal,

Yesterday I went to Target and I found THIS....

It's HUGE & it made me soooooooooooooo excited! Why? Because I had some of this when I was in high school. It was the cotton candy flavored one tho...and I left it in my car & it melted...and I was so sad...but I kept it & used it anyway...but then I lost it & I was REALLY sad...and when I went back to the store to get more....they no longer sold it.
CRUSHED
So you can imagine how big my eyes got when I turned around & there it was!!! In Watermelon, Cotton Candy or Strawberry. OMG! I had to have it! Just thought I would share that with you.
